Atlas of the Inexact

There are places we pass over, barely seen—strange textures glimpsed, shifting landscapes that register more as feeling than form. Atlas of the Inexact captures those moments: the approach to somewhere unfamiliar, the shape of arrival, the stillness just before landing.

This series began with a photograph taken on a late-winter walk — an ice formation that held both fragility and force. What emerged from that moment are works that extend the image beyond itself, shifting into new terrains of pattern, memory, and imagination.

Each piece suggests a terrain that resists mapping. Surfaces fold into one another. Depth behaves like memory. Horizons blur. These works aren’t depictions of any one place, but emotional cartographies—visual records of what we sense but can’t quite name.
The result is a quiet tension between distance and intimacy, structure and surrender. Not instructions. Not destinations. Just invitations—to pause, to interpret, to wonder.
